Alphabet & Writing

Erin is getting REALLY good at writing her name and the alphabet.  She can spell simple words (Erin, fun, mom, dad, etc.) She loves texting and tries to ready EVERYTHING.  We are really proud of her! She isn't even four yet!

Wrote the alphabet entirely on her own

drew Rapunzel on 20 invitation envelopes for her princess birthday party

Erin drew a picture of me and wrote "Mom" all by herself (no spelling or writing help!)

Big Girl Bed!

Over the weekend, we picked up Ryan's old bunk beds. We set up the bottom portion this weekend.  Erin got to pick out her new "big girl" bedding. Of course, she chose pink, orange and Dora! It might finally be working! She slept through the night on Sunday night for the first time in a REALLY long time...so long I can't remember the last time she did!
Complete with iCarly wall calendar

Now I just have to convince Ryan to let me paint her room pink and orange to match...

Potty Prize #1!

Erin has been rewarded for going potty in the big girl potty TEN times!  This morning we had to get gas on our way to Patti's.  So of course Erin asked for cocoa.  So I thought it would be the perfect reward for going potty since it worked so well for sleeping through the night!  Erin got her cocoa and was as excited as a pig in slop!  It was adorable. She kept saying "Mom!  Cocoa!" and she'd hold up her cup. :)

Two Stickers Away!

Erin has been doing so well with using the potty.  She went three times at my mom's house over the weekend!  She doesn't even need a potty chair!  After she uses the potty ten times she will get a prize.  So only two more times and she'll get a special treat.  (What the prize will be is still TBD...) We are SO PROUD of her!!! All of the times she used the potty she told us she had to.  She'll be potty trained before you know it!

Potty Time!

We have started potty training officially! We've been trying/testing/sampling off and on for months now but haven't really been pushing Erin to use the big girl potty. We figure when she is ready, we'll know and we'll start then.

This weekend, she said "Poop" twice and sat herself down on the potty chair and went pee twice!!! We started a "Potty Chart" with stickers for each successful potty attempt. After 10 stickers Erin gets a prize (to be determined at a later date!)

We are so proud of her!! She is growing up way to fast!

Mommy's Little Helper

Erin is the biggest help in the kitchen. Whenever I am in the kitchen at the counter, she drags her chair over and climbs up to "help." She pours water from cups into bowls, drinks from the tablespoons, stirs and anything else she can get her hands on! She is my biggest little helper!

Erin the Photographer

Erin has really taken to stealing Mommy's camera and taking her own pictures.  Some of them aren't half bad!

Some are just entertaining.

If she is a good girl, maybe she'll get her own digital camera for Christmas!

Movie Tuesdays!

Erin loves her dolls and has started "changing" their diapers just like Mommy and Daddy change Erin's!  She is a little Mommy!
She has also started telling Mommy and Daddy when it is time to change her diaper. She grabs her diaper and wipes and goes and lies down on the kitchen floor! (Not sure why the kitchen floor, we've never changed her there before! Maybe because she is close to the trash can?!?) You know what that means?!?! Almost potty training time!

Puddle Jumping

Erin and I went to the Notre Dame Bookstore with my mom.  Erin picked out her very own pair of Notre Dame pants (pink of course!)  She had at least three pair in her possession at any given point while we were there.  It was a rainy night and I had grabbed an umbrella.  Erin insisted in carrying it herself.  She was too cute for words.  So cute, strangers stopped and asked to take her picture!

"Puh-Puh" and Garbage

Erin has started saying "puh" for please. So anytime she wants something, "Puh, Puh!" How can you say no to that?!?!
Erin has also started learning to throw things away! She was at Grandma's house over the weekend and when Grandma would tell her it was time to change her diaper, Erin would lay down in the middle of the floor! Then when she was done, Erin would take her dirty diaper and disappear. At first Grandma wasn't sure what she would do with it. Then Erin went into the kitchen and threw it away!

We were cleaning her up yesterday with a wet paper towel. Erin took it and disappeared again. She had gone into the kitchen and thrown it away as well! Definitley a girl after her Daddy's heart! Now we just have to be careful that she only throws things away that we want her to!

Talking Up a Storm

Over the last few days Erin has gone from saying very few real words to saying about 5! She used to only use phrases like: "Who's Here?", "What's This"mama, dada, etc. Now she can say: kitty, duck, baby, bye-bye and head. I think her vocabulary is about ready to grow leaps and bounds over the next few months. It should be both fun and interesting to hear what she has to say! Mommy and Daddy better watch what they say around her!

Erin Cooking

Erin likes to help Mommy in the kitchen. This is how we found her.

She had opened the pots and pans cabinet, taken out the biggest pot and sat down! Goofy Girl!

Check Up!

Erin went for another doctor's checkup today. She is 24.2lbs (75th percentile), 30 1/4 inches tall (50th percentile) and has an 18 1/2 inch head (75th percentile)! She has had some pretty icky allergies lately and has been waking up coughing in the middle of the night. We were prescribed Claritin and it is a wonder-drug! She feels so much better! She still wakes up at night coughing but she isn't gagging on her mucus at least.

My grandma goes to the same doctor and happened to have an appointment that same day right before Erin's appointment. So she stuck around to see her little "peanut".

She is growing up so fast right before our eyes! It is hard to believe that she is already 15 months old! She isn't a baby anymore, she is a little girl!

Somersaults!

Erin is learning the fine art of somersaulting. She is going to be a gymnast before we know it!

Daredevil

Erin loves her new rocking chair but she sure doesn't use it properly! She turns around and stands on it backwards and rocks! Then she lets go and looks at you like she is saying "Look Ma! No Hands!"

Erin's Rocking Chair

Grandma gave Erin my old rocking chair. She loves it! She has already figured out how to "rock" in it! It is the perfect size for her!
