Mary Jane's Surprise Birthday Party

Mary Jane had a surprise 18th birthday party today. We went over to Ryan's mom's house for dinner and cake. Erin found her new favorite food: Cheese Doodles! You couldn't tear her away from the bowl. She found a little step stool and would climb right up and help herself!

Erin also LOVES ice. She has been found multiple times on many different occassions digging in coolers, glasses and buckets for ice cubes. Her little hands get so cold! But she sure does enjoy herself! She'll put one in her mouth and then put it back in the cooler. So a word to the wise...if you are at our house or a gathering that Erin attends, don't assume the ice in the cooler is clean...

She is also going to be the ultimate cornhole player as well. She is quite the ringer. She tossed them right into the hole. While I realize she was only a couple of inches away, if she is this good now? Just imagine in a couple years!!

There was another little girl there that was about Erin's age. They were quite intrigued by one another and played nicely all evening. They even played pretty music together!

Isn't she adorable in her all her Cheese-Doodle glory with her little pigtail?

Euchre Night!

Ryan and I hosted Euchre Night for our family and friends this month. We hope it will be a monthly (or so) ritual. We had about 13 people over to play and hang out. We did a progressive tournement so no one was "stuck" with the same partner for too long. It was a lot of fun and hopefully the start of a nice tradition.

MMMM...Popsicles!

Erin LOVES popsicles! She likes eating them all by herself with help from no one. She'll pout and refuse to eat anymore if you try.

She also likes sharing her popsicles with you. "Would you like to try some popsicle?"

Somersaults!

Erin is learning the fine art of somersaulting. She is going to be a gymnast before we know it!

Happy Birthday (Big) Erin!

My friend Erin had a birthday barbeque this weekend. We had loads of fun playing cards (Euchre!!), eating grilled chicken and hot dogs and playing in the sandbox. Erin played with the "big boys" outside. Running around the house, playing in the sandbox, playing "lasso golf" and just having fun. It was cute to see her chase after the boys!

Playin' in the Pool!

We bought Erin a baby pool again this year. She absolutely loves it! She has only fallen in once (OOPS! She was bending over the side to splash and slid right in.) Scared her more than anything but she still enjoys it!

Two Year Anniversary!

Ryan and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary today. We went to dinner at LaSalle Grill downtown and had a fabulous dinner. It was half price wine night so we got a $50 bottle of wine for $25! (A merlot from Napa Valley). For an appetizer we had rustic spinach and smoked bacon quiche. Ryan had the lamb with horseradish mashed potatoes and I had the Pan Seared Indiana Duckling with horseradish mashed potatoes and a Greek Yogurt Sauce. It was delicious! For dessert, Ryan had a blueberry crisp sundae and I had Choco Vine (chocolate wine!!) YUM!

Ryan also sent me flowers at work for our anniversary. They are absolutely gorgeous and smell wonderful! All of my co-workers are enjoying them too!

The Zoo with Daddy & G-Pa!

Daddy, Erin, G-Pa and I went to the Zoo again today. Erin had the best time looking at all the animals! She walked a lot of the way too. She is getting so independent! Her favorite animals were the Koi and the monkeys!

Erin on a big giant tortoise.
Drinking from the drinking fountain (i.e. playing in the water)
Playing Peek-A-Boo in the Outback
Looking at the big kitties!
Feeding the catfish
We heard the lions "roar" which was really neat!! The lions made the monkeys howl and the birds squawk.
We have a future ballerina on our hands!
Just chillin' with the goats!

This particular monkey thought Erin was going to steal his water bowl. So every time she went toward the blue bowl he followed and "stole" it back.
